A Travel Guide to Villamartin
Located on the Southern Costa Blanca, on the Orihuela Costa in Alicante, Spain just to the west of Torrevieja is Villamartin, another Valencian community that possesses a beauty of its own. Villamartin is strategically situated an hour away from the Alicante airport and more or less twenty minutes from Murcia airport.
Villamartin is a popular area with golfers having two championship courses close by, Campo de Golf Villamartin and the Campo de Golf Las Ramblas. The area has grown around the Campo de Golf Villamartin which is slightly inland.
One of Villamartin’s attractions are a number of “Blue Flag” beaches that are close by such as La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca and Campoamor.
In the centre of Villamartin is the plaza which is a square with distinctive black and white chessboard paving and huge palm trees, the plaza is surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants and is a popular meeting area particularly in the warm summer evenings.
Villamartin is also surrounded by many interesting places like the town of Elche, which is famous for its palm trees, La Manga, cave houses near Rojales and Orihuela and Torrevieja, with wonderful beaches and a promenade.
Villamartin makes an ideal base for the holidaymaker in Southern Costa Blanca with its golf courses, shops, restaurants, beaches and nearby tourist attractions.
